Little Roots is the community branch growing beside Little Dreamers, created to strengthen families, empower children, and reconnect people to the land that sustains us. Our mission is simple. Nourish children. Support families. Equip educators. Grow a healthier community together.

​

Little Roots is designed to help solve a growing challenge in early childhood education: rising food costs paired with the urgent need to pay educators a livable wage. By growing a portion of our own produce and building a farm-to-center pipeline, we can reduce meal expenses while protecting the nutritional quality served to children. Every meal will continue to meet or exceed Michigan’s CACFP food program standards so children receive nutrient dense foods that support their development and well being.

Little Roots will serve children, families, and the broader community through hands on learning experiences, family gardening programs, volunteer garden days, and future wellness and food access initiatives. Our hope is to create a space where children learn where food comes from, parents feel supported, and the community comes together around a shared vision of nourishment and connection.
